More Than 6,000 Acres of Land in Ventura & LA County are Deemed a protected ecological area

Over 6,000 acres of open space on the border of Ventura and LA County are now considered part of a protected ecological area. The news was confirmed this month by the California Natural Resources Agency. Largely undeveloped, the land is located 40 miles west of downtown Los Angeles and is adjacent to the Angeles National Forest and Los Padres National Forest. While the property itself is entirely in LA County, it begins at the Ventura County border near Lake Piru. Worth noting is the fact that the site is the largest undeveloped private property in the county
